Wingspan Player Marker Holder Enhancements
Description
I really liked cmalczew's box for holding the player tokens, but I wanted two enhancements - individual containers to take each player's pieces out of the box, and being able to recognise which tokens go in each row based on colour (not just shape). So I imported the model into TInkercad and made these simple enhancements. I was happy with how they turned out. The only problem is that it is a little tricky to get the token holders out. The best way is to use your nails. Note that in order to print these effectively you will need some specific slicer settings. For the token holder insert you will need to print it in "vase mode". The Cura setting is called "Spiralize Outer Contour". Note that bottom layers are printed in full (I think I did 2) and then the remainder of the model will be printed as one continuous outside wall. I used 0.4mm line width. If you wanted the inserts to be a little more sturdy you could use a larger line width, but some of the player tokens may not fit as well. For the front icons, these are sized exactly the same as the cutouts on the front of the box. If you print them as is, they will likely not fit. I wasn't sure that scaling the model would help, but Cura (and presumably other slicers) has a setting called "Horizontal Expansion". In my simplistic way of looking at it, setting this to a positive value is like making the model *bold*, and using a negative value does the opposite - is brings the walls in a bit. So I printed these models with a horizontal expansion setting of -0.2mm. This seemed to work pretty well for me. These only take a minute to print, so you can try a few options. I also scaled the z axis to 0.6mm. The 4th icon printed a bit funny for me, but I did some surgery with the angle cutters and was able to stick it in. I used a glue stick to glue the icons in place. That was effective enough for such small pieces. Any glue that works with plastic should be good enough.
