Vacuum hose clamp

Vacuum hose clamp

Description

This is a hose clamp, used in vacuum infusion composites manufacturing (weird hobby i know). Found a few metal designs on the internet, with no local suppliers I designed my own, using simple and inexpensive 8mm linch pins from the hardware store ($3 each), only took a day to design and print. To assemble, position the clamp lock into the clamp body, insert 1 linch pin into the clamp lock, screw the clamp screw into the body, then insert the dovetailed shim into the clamp lock, securing the clamp screw to the clamp lock. Simple as that. Tips on printing screws and threads. Took a couple of goes to get right, designed in solid works, standard thread options are Metric, imperial, and bottle cap. Used bottle cap screw as it made sense to use a thread designed for plastic. As for size, a 0.8mm difference in hole diameter to bolt diameter, was the magin number, screws together nice and smooth, works perfectly
