The Orbiter V2 FLSun Q5 Direct Drive Adaptor
Description
FLSun Q5 "The Orbiter" Adaptor V.2 =========================== Here is the adaptor I made for the FLSun Q5 that mounts "The Orbiter v2" for direct drive use. I have I believe improved in many ways the design from the previous attempt for mounting the v1.5. There is now hex nuts holding the bottom and middle together making it more rigid but in smaller area. The top screws into the plastic but this is study and while I tried to use hex nuts here too there just wasn't a good way to do it. This is a working adaptor but as the clearance is so tight you might need to sand or drill the holes to suit. I made things slightly smaller for this purpose. Notes ===== 6 x M3 - 16mm 2 x M3 - 20mm 6 x M3 Hex Nuts I used PLA at 70% infill for the pieces using a 0.6 nozzle. Depending on your wall count you can make this less but I just wanted them as rigid as possible I cleaned the holes with a 2.5mm drill bit for the screws and a 4mm bit for the PTFE tube. I made it 52mm of PTFE tube from Heat Break to Orbiter but I would suggest you measure this once installed as I use a non-standard heat break. I fed the PTFE in through the adaptor and into the heat sink and cut it 7mm above the adaptor to fit into the Orbiter, this was too much but it meant I could trim to tight fit. Use the middle piece as a guide for where to drill the 4 holes, its the easiest way to mark it. ** Info ** I'll add some built pictures and video once I have them. The adaptor is on and working, i just wanna make it look pretty :P
