Floppy Posterboard Sign Holder (Vertical)
Description
This set is designed to hold two 22x28 inch posterboards (the nearly paper-thin type) without requiring adhesives and an emphasis on reusability. The design is also intended to be used with a 1/2 inch (common) metal emt conduit pipe (so the external diameter is actually .706", because "common" is nonsense). The pieces can be printed at a .2 mm layer height with 0% infill without any loss in strength. I used PLA and it worked perfectly. To assemble the pieces, start by wrapping a rubber band around the pole at the spot the bottom of the sign should be. This will prevent the lower sign holder from sliding down. Then, slide the handle onto the underside of the pipe (a set screw hole is available in the event that a rigid connection is desired rather than a freely-swiveling one. Alternatively, it can be glued to the pipe). Next drop the lower holder from the top, slide a posterboard into one of the sides of the lower holder, and place the upper holder on top. It's a fairly intuitive system- the posterboards are curved to create rigidity, and they press against each other at the extremities as additional support.
