Kyosho Pro XL Rear Hinge Mount
Description
Rear hinge pin mount for a variety of Kyosho Ultima Series based vehicles (Original through the II-Series). This has been modeled pretty closely to a used Pro XL hinge pin mount. This has the original outer hinge pin mounts for the shorter arms as well as the inner hinge pin mount for the extended arms. This is pretty close to the original design with only some minor modifications for rounds to improve strength. By design, it provides roughly 4 degrees of anti-squat when paired with the Pro/Ultima II rear bulkhead. This is quite a bit when compared with modern buggies but is similar to other race buggies from the late 80's/early 90's. It also adds a small amount of toe-in by default (0.5 mm offset). Ream the hinge pin holes with a 3 mm drill bit (recommend using it in reverse to prevent drilling through the mount). Tap the mounting holes with a M4 tap. NOTE: I have not yet fully confirmed all the outer pin mount hole depth. There is also a slight gap/hole at the threaded area to maximize depth of hinge pin engagement for the inner mounts. I have not yet fully confirmed via assembly into the buggy and I cannot comment on compatibility with the rerelease motor mount (fits very well with the older transmission/motor plate). I may develop 2 degree and 3 degree anti-squat versions of this mount in the future. It would likely require a new rear bulkhead to accomplish that intent. The original outer mounting pivots is much closer to a modern anti-squat setup (albeit with much shorter arms) - so that may be a more reliable option.
