Fractional parts of a circle

Fractional parts of a circle

Description

These are fractional parts of a circle I use for my 6th grade to teach them a basic understanding of how summation works. Included fractions are: * 1⁄2 * 1⁄3 * 1⁄4 * 1⁄5 * 3⁄4 * 2⁄3 I printed every fraction a few times each in their own color so they can lay them beside each other to form a full circle. The first task is to assign each part the right fraction. Then they have to lay multiple different parts together to form nearly a full circle. They see that a tiny part to 1 is missing and calculate the exact fraction of the sum. See the (german) worksheet for more information.
