Sofirn BLF LT1 lantern base and shade
Description
This is a shade and base for the Sofirn BLF LT1 lantern. The shade is meant to help reflect light downwards, so print it in a light color or paint it with a reflective color. The shade is a very tight fit with a 35.65 inner diameter. FWIW, a 35.75 diameter is very loose, so if it is too tight, try printing it at 100.1% or 100.2%. Yes, a tiny change like that makes a huge difference. The second part is a base. It expands the width from 2 inches to 4 inches, for much better resistance against being tipped/knocked over. You'll need a 1/4x20 screw (1/2 inch length), and preferably a hex nut. I got a multi pack at Lowe's for under $2. I'll try to post the UPC later to make it easier for you to find. Insert the hex nut into the hex hole and put the screw in the bottom. Tighten it well, and then the whole thing will easily twist on and off of the lantern. Both of these are completely flat on the bottom for easy printing without supports. In my case, I printed the shade as glow in the dark on the bottom with black on top. Fair warning, most gitd filament is abrasive. I printed my base as natural PLA on the bottom with black on top. Hopefully, the translucent plastic will help transmit light downwards a little.
