Sun Visor mechanism
Description
This is the hinge and arm mechanism for 1/8" smoked acrylic or lexan for aircraft sun visors. It's designed for 6" wide material but is open ended, so you could make it a bit wider and any length that suits your application. In my case, I have 12" x 6" x 1/8" grey smoked lexan. The hinge is a snap-in and the 1/8" material should press in tightly, although you can crazy glue it if you like. There's a rib in the hinge which will help keep the visor in the up position. Total weight is 30g (1 oz) not including the 1/8" visor material. Note: This is NOT a swing out visor. I have high wings which sit forward enough to be sun shades from my side, so I didn't compromise hinge strength by making it swing out. * Please read the Print Settings for support notes *
