Compression Clamp Assortment
Description
I wanted to make a clamp for my Air Compressor to hang my air nozzle from and i wasnt sure exactly what i wanted to use so i decided to make a handful of different choices.\ Standard - Used for the backing unless you want clamps on both sides Vertical Ring/Loop - Ring runs parallel to the pipe/tube Horizontal Ring/Loop - Rung runs perpendicular to pipe/tube Quick Release - Blank, like the standard but has a "Tray" to fit my quick release handles in Hook - just a short hook with angled tip. I decided to make all 5 variants in a 25mm tube size and then a 30mm tube size, These are both built to use M4 sized screws and nuts. I did figure out a couple of other sizes you can easily scale to: * If you start with the 25mm pieces, and scale them down to 80%, they can clamp on a 20mm tube and use standad M3 screws and nuts. * If you start with the 30mm pieces and scale it up to 125%, they can clamp on a 37mm tube that use the standard M5 Scew/Nuts. Of course you can figure out other options and the wings on these clamps are large enough that you can easily drill out the holes to accomodate what you have. The quick release took a few test prints and tweaks to get working. Basically you place the cylinder inside the Handle. Insert handle "Upside down" on the tray with the cylinder with the screw head cutout facing up. insert screw through both sides of clamp and thread on nut. Once you get it slightly tensioned, you can flip the handle over and it will tighten. This works perfect if you need to adjust the location of your clamps, flip the lever and slide it up or down and then lock it back into place. If you look at the handle closely, the central core opening on the handle is off-center from the outer diameter, so as you flip the handle over, it will tighten. I made the handle a bit "clunky" for strength. I was able to make M4 screws work with this handle but i found that the M3 screw worked a bit nicer because the head flush mounted. See close up images. Anyway, hope someone finds a use for these. please share some makes if you do. I've attached a quick video to show you how the quick release works. I put some Lithium Grease in the joint to help it rotate smoothly, but it does work without. If the video doesn't load, check it out here quick: https://youtu.be/l89oAmDCsz4
