Fractal Meshify 2 XL Corsair PCIe Riser Bracket
Description
Fractal offer a riser cable for their cases; however, it uses up all the motherboard’s expansion slots. If you have the standard Meshify 2 I suspect the cable could be used with the built-in vertical mount. This isn’t possible with the XL if you want to make use of the motherboard’s slots since the cable blocks any cards. Corsair offer a 300mm riser which is perfect for use with the vertical mount, while allowing access to (some of) the motherboard’s expansion slots at the same time. The problem is the mounting holes don’t line up; this bracket rectifies the issue. The bracket is not perfect unfortunately. The cable needs to be supported at the back, otherwise the connector can tilt and rip out the screws connecting the riser to the 3D printed bracket. I would like to measure out and update the design… however, I don’t really fancy repeatedly messing with a graphics card that’s got a fully connected and filled water block. Instead, I used a plug from an EK radiator to support the cable while inserting the card. After the card is fully screwed in place, the support can be removed if you wish. It’s not visible, so I’ve left it in to make maintenance easier. To screw the bracket to the case, use the ‘Mounting Screw (6-32)’. To screw the riser to the bracket, use the ‘Mounting Screw (M3)’. The connection between the riser and the bracket is **extremely** weak, so be very gentle with the assembly. The bracket is primarily to support the GPU during insertion and to ensure correct alignment with the rest of the case. The mounting holes are the same on the Meshify 2 and Meshify 2 XL, so this should work for both cases. Print with PETG at 0.2mm resolution.
