Sidewinder X1 Filament Runout Sensor Mount V1

Sidewinder X1 Filament Runout Sensor Mount V1

Description

I built a Repkord shelft to hold my filament, and added their spool roller to it. In doing so, I was able to remove the spool holder from the top of the sidewinder X1. This eliminated additional mass away from the mounting points, which should in turn reduce vibrations and z-banding/other printing imperfections. When you remove the spool holder, it requires you to either eliminate the filament runout sensor (bad idea) or find an alternative way to mount it. This design uses the (4) M5 screws previously used for mounting the spool holder to the T-Slot frame. the Filament sensor is mounted to the arm using a M3x25 screw and lock nut. The arm mounts so that the filament feeding through the runout sensor is almost completely vertical (parallel with frame). Printed with Inland PLA+ Gray 1.75mm filament at 0.20mm layer height.
