Nikon Hotshoe Gun Sight for Telephoto

Nikon Hotshoe Gun Sight for Telephoto

Description

I shoot bird and wildlife photography and with a very long telephoto I found it hard to quickly spot a bird and drop down into the viewfinder. I would be far off on shots that were well over 100 yards away. I looked at several other versions of the standard Flash Hotshoe cover and then made a plate similar to one I had seen. I made a groove at the back for a fingernail or thumb nail removal and then added a couple other slots on top to support the two thick gun sights. I cut off bits of the rectangle at the front at 45 degree angles to make it easier to slide in. I use these all the time and they also help protect the electronic connectors at the top if caught in sudden rain.
