Marking Gauge - Fully Printed
Description
A fully 3d printed marking gauge. Takes a pencil or blade. One handed operation. A video showing how to assemble this, and how it works is here:https://youtu.be/gEs_Tvr69bE I printed this in PETG The main body and the beam were printed with .3mm layer height 2 or more perimeters, 15% infill. The cross beam I printed with 7 perimeters, 100% infill - it takes a bit of impact when releasing the tension, so needs to be printed strong to withstand it. Lubricating the sides and top of the crossbeam makes it work more smoothly, and requires less force to get a solid lock. I used wax and it worked very well. Choose whichever bushing suits your needs. One is sized to fit a pencil, one for 9mm wide disposable blades. Finally one a is sized to fit a hex screwdriver bit, I used a worn out bit and ground a cutting edge on it. Update: I've added an elongated alternate version of the main body. I can see this being useful with longer craft knife blades.
