YAPiC - Yet Another Pi Case for Raspberry Pi Zero

YAPiC - Yet Another Pi Case for Raspberry Pi Zero

Description

For my Octoprint project I tried to create a simple and compact holder/mount for the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W. During the design phase I decided to create a standalone case for testing purposes resulting in this fully printable case. The enclosure was designed to hold a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W including a waveshare ethernet/USB hat. This HAT does not require an external Micro-USB uplink and ist mounted on the back side of the Pi Zero and connects to it via Pogo pins for a compact design. I did neither require the GPIO header to be soldered nor did I require any heatsink for this project. I did howevefr include an (untested) top lid with a GPIO cutout in the models. Additional cutouts or extended (deeper) enclosure might be built depending on heatsink requirements. The case is printing pretty tight on my Anycubic Vyper. The Pi Zero with HAT is centered pretty well using the pins at the bottom: I have also included 2 screw-holes which can be used with M2 screws to lock the Pi in place - but I did not use them personally as evne without screws it won't move. The holes are also handy if you ever need to push the Pi back out of the housing. What you need ============ - Raspberry Pi Zero (I used a Pi Zero 2 W) - Waveshare Ethernet/USB HAT (e.g. https://www.amazon.de/-/en/USB-HUB-HAT-Pi-Compatible/dp/B09BMV4BCW) Features ======= - Tight fit - Centering pins at the bottom - Screw mounting holes at the bottom - Ventilation cutouts - Fully printable (screws are optional) - Clip-On Lid with and without GPIO cutout Changelog ========= 2022-04-05: Updates Case to include cut-slot for USB-port of Raspberry Pi Zero. Even if in this case the micro USB port is unused the port is still populated and needs a slot to slide in perfectly into the case.
