3D Chameleon Direct Drive Extruder Support
Description
I have been having a lot of issues with getting my filament to feed all the way through end the Y Adapter on the 3Dchameleon Mk2. I had try moving the Y Adapter to different sides and angles to no avail. I even swapped to a direct drive assembly in a futile attempt to solve my dilemma. Alas the only thing I could think of was that the adapter needs support to maintain the rigidity of the PTFE tube going from the Adapter into the Extruder. So away to TinkerCAD I went and designed this to fit atop and between the Extruder and the Y Axis Carriage for the direct drive assembly. It is designed so that the neck of the Y Adapter will fit in support and you can place a ziptie through the slots and around it, snug but lose enough so the Y Adapter can rotate as the Carriage moves to alleviate any additional tension on the PTFE tubing above. You will need to drill holes for the screws into the extruder so it is sandwiched between the carriage and the motor. I would have added the holes, but I frankly have no idea how. If someone could remix this and clean it up a bit and add the holes for the mount........that be greeeaaaaaat. I haven't printed this to test it out yet, but will as soon as I get my fan housing for my direct drive printed and I will update the post with pictures and further details. I am going to print it at 50% infill cause I'm extra, but you do you boo boo. Also I will prolly print it tilted at an angle with supports, pictured above.
