Nui Stone (Toa Tuyet)
Description
This is my interpretation of the Nui Stone which Toa Tuyet wields in the Empire universe. It is intended to look like a crystal which has had the face of the Mata Nui robot carved into it, in order to harken back to the Gen 1 imagery of Mata Nui and the Makuta being represented by rocks with crude carved faces. I build upon this idea by considering the Crimson Behelit from Berserk; a talisman held by someone who is destine to commit a great betrayal in their desire for power. To this end I made the stone smaller, and added attachment points which allow it to be hung from a chain as a necklace. At a previous time, I was very concerned with this part looking "canon friendly". I took great strides to try and make a stone which looked interesting, unique, and... like stone. I never landed on a design I was totally happy with in that way, such is the nature of perfectionism. However now that canon ISN'T in question, I have a good excuse to sit back and do something a little dumber. This is not a fist sized crystal. Frankly I think it looks better opaque than it does see-through. But I like the image that it paints and at this point that's all that matters. Printing this model off in real life is very cute, as when its done in a solid colour it looks like. little egg. I haven't tried to print with with a clear filament, or with a resin printer, or anything like that, but the Studio renders looks ok. I've included in this download two models - their both the exact same apart from the diameter of one of the attachment holes. I found, when I printed the model, whichever hole was parallel to the Z-axis would always come out undersized. I found increasing the diameter of this hole on the model helped.
