Front derailleur shim with fender mounting point

Front derailleur shim with fender mounting point

Description

My front derailleur has so much stick out that even though I have a chainstay bridge with a dedicated M5 mounting point, my rear fender can't get there without interfering with the front derailleur. So I made a set of shims, which I need anyways, with an M5 mounting up higher. These shims step from 28.6 to 34.9 mm, 14 mm tall for a Shimano Deore front derailleur. The M5 thread must be tapped after the fact. The hole is modeled at the tap drill diameter. I've had luck going straight to tapping the plastic. It's strong enough for low in/out cycling. It's the cleanest solution & strong enough. Intelligently pick a fastener length so the bolt doesn't scratch your paint on the seat tube.
