UFO-Lamp screw
Description
I bought several so called UFO-Lamps on flea markets. Most of them where different color. I got copper, gold, silver, white and stainless steel. Since they all needed to be placed in the same rooms ceiling, I used a spray can to recolor them black as you can see on the photos. The lamp shade requires three plastic screws to keep it in place. Since these all where in the same colors as the lamp and several where missing, I designed a replacement and printed them all in black to match my color of choice and did not use the original ones at all. The screw can be printed like a mushroom without support, but I suggest printing them at a little angle to increase the layers strength. This is especially giving the helix on the outside more rigidity. Yes, the screw head looks a little less nice, but you cannot see the layer lines once the lamp is mounted on the ceiling and you don´t want these screws to fail. I think I used 10-15 degree or so. You will need a little support, but again you cannot see anything from the underside of the screw, when the lamp is mounted and the amount of plastic is not even worse talking about. Some lamps are mounted here for over 8 month now without any issues. My screws are all printed using ABS, which is my favorite material as it does not snap as easy as PLA and is nice to print, if you have figured it out.
