Makita LXT 18V Battery Mount V4

Makita LXT 18V Battery Mount V4

Description

If you've ever wanted to make use of those Makita LxT 18V batteries, you are going to want a solid and clean way to get to the battery terminals. This 3D print provides a plastic plate that slips onto the battery, snapping on just like a Makita power tool. The electrical terminals connections are reproduced using a genuine Makita spare part (643852-2), glued into place. You will need to source those separately, but relatively inexpensive for a Makita part. The 3D Makita LXT 18V Battery Mount is designed to directly and firmly fit the Makita 643852-2 Battery Terminal spare part, though I use epoxy resin glue to secure it permanently in-place. This is a revision to a past successful design. The most notable difference are the mounting holes. I also tweaked the design's details for even more precision. This design has the mounting holes accessed from underneath, necessary for a separate project. I've now created several projects based on this design, altering the basic width and length to accommodate a custom 3D printed box cover to fit the project. My print is made in PLA+ 1.75mm eSUN blue filament, with 0.2mm layer height and 35% infill on a PRUSA I3 MK3S printer. No print supports were necessary. I hope you can find this design useful, too. Remember to leave me some feedback or even a tip to keep me enthused to make more of these drawings. (Lookout for some of my 3D prints for my Makita battery projects and share your thoughts.)
