CR10s Pro v1/v2 Fan Duct - No Supports Required!
Description
After upgrading my CR10s Pro v1/v2's to the Microswiss all-metal hotend, I've struggled to find fan ducts that directed air flow properly. Most fan ducts that I've found have had for issues. 1 - They don't direct air low enough. 2 - The Microswiss nozzle sits so far back that most fan ducts are barely in line with the nozzle. Meaning, even if the duct was directed low enough, most of the air escapes in front of the nozzle. 3 - Most nozzles sit so close to the heat block that the are actually resting on the silicon sock. Rather quickly they end up deforming. 4 - The mounting arms are often too flimsy to withstand an unfortunate 'catch' of the fan duct on a peeling print and the fan duct is ripped from its mounting location. So, I took a stab at designing my own fan duct to correct all four issues. After a few iterations I successfully rectified all of these issues AND have a printable fan duct that can be printing with NO supports. If your printer doesn't bridge well, supports might still be necessary, but I would stick with tree supports, otherwise removing the supports from the duct would be a nightmare. Also, the mounting screw required for this model is slightly longer than stock. This adds strength to the mounting arm. I plan to upload a second version that can use the stock mounting screw. Since I only own the CR10s Pro v1 and v2 (both with Microswiss hotends), I don't know what other printers or hotends this duct might work with.
