Filament guide for top mounted spool, CR-10 v2

Filament guide for top mounted spool, CR-10 v2

Description

I have found that filament guides for top-mounted spools do not fit my CR-10 v2, very well. Some of them fit...passably...well, but most are designed for the Ender series; the runout detector and extruder and, most importantly, the carriage assembly just aren't the same. Note, to create this guide, you first MUST acquire the "ring.stl" and "spacer.stl" from the "Ender 3 Filament Roller Guide by Holspeed. I found that this roller assembly was perfect for designing a new frame to mount on a CR-10 v2. You'll also need hardware mentioned in the original parts list: 1 - 608 bearing 1 - M4 x 16mm bolt (I prefer a nut on the end for retention as well) The two parts I designed are simple to print and join easily with a dot of CA glue (super glue). I recommend running the mating surfaces across a file or sandpaper to flatten them, just to ensure the greatest possible surface area for the glue to contact. The base part actually holds to the stamped metal of the assembly with clamping force alone but there is a screw hole for a countersunk 3mm wood screw. On my printer there is already an unused hole here. It's not absolutely ideal but you need to file the last couple millimeters off the end of the screw or it will run into the z-axis components below. I also suppose a countersunk bolt no more than about 4mm would work too. Just getting some threads sunk into the plastic seems to keep it firmly in place.
