Filament Runout Sensor for Reverse Bowden

Filament Runout Sensor for Reverse Bowden

Description

Print on the face with my logo, which the arrows are pointing to. No supports required. There are a few small bridges, but they print well. This is a modification of the Runout sensor for 2020 Rails by ComfyChairDesigns. I increased the bolt size to match the bolts used for the angled spool holder, and extended the slots to allow it to reach the middle of a spool. The front will fit a bowden... thingy (not sure what that is called). You can see it in the pics. That is my reverse bowden setup. I am pretty happy with it. I made quite a few mods to the filament path. I designed the entry to work with a chunk of bowden tube. This will flex without snagging filament. It does work without the chunk of bowden tube, but the lip to stop the bowden tube might cause the initial load to feel blocked. I used it for days like that, filament never kinked or caught. I also added a couple grooves to improve the flexability and allow easy insertion and removal of the 608 bearing. I haven't actually wired in the filament runout sensor, but the switch is triggered each time you insert filament, so I have no doubt it will work.
