Large G-Clamp for G's Only, w/ Square Threads
Description
Large G-Clamp designed in TinkerCAD. Based on Square Threads with very little backlash -- they have a very tight tolerance but still tend to work very well when I print them with following settings after slicing in CURA and printing with PLA on a 0.4mm nozzle (haven't tried other filaments): * Layer Height: 0.2 * Initial Layer Height: 0.3 * Line Width: 0.48 * Top/Bottom Line Width: 0.3 * Wall Thiccness: 2.4 * Wall Line Count: 12 * Fill Gaps Between Walls: Everywhere * Top Surface Skin Layers: 1 * Top/Bottom Thickness: 1.2 * Top/Bottom Layers: 12 * Infill Density: 25% * Infill Line distance: 1.92 * Infill Pattern: Gyroid * Connect Infill Lines: true * Printing Temp: 203 C * Initial Printing Temp: 213 C * Build Plate Temperature: 63 C The threads should be broken in first (see print settings section) before installing in clamp. I did design a minor chamfer on the geometrically square threads and it seems to make them an easier fit after actually printing. Note that there are some stepped holes, 3 on each side of the clamp body for a total of 9 holes, for mounting things. For example, you can put a brass threaded insert in one side and a bolt through the other and fasten something to the other end of the bolt with a nut (as I did in one of the pictures). I think from the title this goes without saying, but only print this if you yourself are in fact a "G". Uses 275 grams of filament and CURA says it takes 16 hrs and 45 minutes with my print settings. It warps over time, sure, but it's a damn large plastic clamp for like idk maybe 2 or 3 bucks worth of plastic so... hey. There ya go. If you do anything interesting with this I'd love to see lol.
