Cruiser Gyroo! autogyro blade sanding tool

Cruiser Gyroo! autogyro blade sanding tool

Description

Sanding tool for 60 mm chord autogyro blade. The blade has a profile extracted from Richard Harris Cruiser autogyro plan (2015 RCM&E), the profile is very similar to the one provided with Gyroo! (May 2022, RCM&E). Files: '60mm_profile_left_shelf.stl', '60mm_profile_right_shelf.stl' are designed based on 15mm offset of the blade profile from Cruiser paper plan. Can upload 68mm profile of Panther autogyro as well, just leave a comment or PM. 'central_box_extension.stl' is to extend the central platform to support 68mm profiles, needs two M4x10mm nuts or may be just glued 'sanding_box' must have the sand paper attached with double sided adhesive tape (total thickness of sand paper+adhesive tape of one or two layers should be 0.3-0.5 mm) 'slider_' element to be printed twice and fit with chamfered edges up as in the picture, move of the 'slider' along the step at the 'sanding box' increases/decreases the sanding depth by 0.2mm per 1 hole in 'slider_', Additional materials: 10-15 mm long M4 screws with nuts (to fit 'slider_' to 'sanding box'), two M4 screws with nuts or M4 threaded rod (min.75 mm) with nuts, washers may be also useful Get rid of the sharp edges of your prints, may deform assembly and dent/scratch the wood. After assembling I also gave a touch of sanding to edges/surfaces having contact with blade. I printed mine in PLA with 0.2 resolution and 3-4 walls and 25% infill to provide stiffness, it worked ok for me. PLA may get warm and soft while sanding (fortunately have not observed yet) so don't be in rush or print in with different material ;) Good luck with your blades!
