Scorpion AT-950(ADX-1) Chin Camera Mount
Description
I wanted to mount a camera on my Scorpion ADX-1 helmet. Some Chinese dude is selling a 3D printed mount for it for £40 but I ain't made of money. Figured it was time for the west to clone a Chinese design for once and who better to do it than I? Afterwards, I decided to share the joy with you wankers cuz why not? Print without support, make sure you have at least 3 perimeters, infill doesn't matter, I printed it out of PLA but I don't see why anything else wouldn't work. Stick it to your helmet with 3M's foam tape (not the thin one, the 2.3MM one - I used "3M VHB 4991F"). Apply gentle heat to the tape with a hair dryer before sticking it for maximum holding power(and I mean gentle, just a couple of seconds is enough) You might think it won't hold the weight of the camera. You'd be wrong. I screwed up on my first installation and had to remove the mount. It ripped the paint off of the helmet and I had to use a knife to unstick it. If you let the tape cure for 24 hours, it'll lift a DSLR. The mount has the standard GoPro clip thingy, there are a lot of accessories you can use with it. It's also quick and easy to remove the camera from the mount. The chin vent isn't blocked either. PS: If you're wondering why my camera is tilted to the left in the pictures; it turns out I have a tendency to tilt my head to the right while riding. The camera's footage looked like it was taken on a sinking ship so I printed a connector piece that's tilted 10 degrees to the left to compensate. Trust me the asymmetry of it is driving me crazy too but what you gonna do... PSS: The blood type in the photos is only on mine, the STL doesn't have it. PSSS: My helmet is an XL but curvatures are the same on all so it should fit universally.
