DOOM (2016) Super Shotgun (improved and scaled)
Description
This is the super shotgun from the DOOM game which came out 2016. It has a working hinge mechanism, so you can load it with shotgun shells just like in the game. Note that the shotgun from doom eternal looks a little bit different. # Why the Remix? The original is already quite good, but there was room for improvement. Here is list of things that I did to improve it: - Changed the size of every piece to 40% of the original scaling (everyone from the original recommended this scale) - Split the handle into 2 pieces, to make print layers look better and to fit it on small printers - Added shotgun shells (with and without engraving) - Engraved the sign of doom on the handle thing (it is not there in the game, but I thought it looks cool) - Merged a few files to simply one file, as they had to be glued together otherwise - Added holes for little 4x3mm neodym magnets to the lock and the rear barrel, this improves the hinge mechanism - Optimized every file for printing: - Changed the orientations to a recommended print position - Made surfaces which needs to lie on the ground flat (there were same surfaces which were not quite flat, resulting in ugly support layers. - Get rid of errors in the model (there were Cura warnings for a few files) - Get rid of unnecessary big gaps between a few parts - Changed the size of the pegs for a better fit (the originals were like 1% to big) - Other minor improvements I uploaded every file you need. You will have to print 16 of the big pegs and 4 of the small pegs. If you want to add magnets you will need 6 neodym magnets with 4 mm diameter and 3 mm height, but I also added files without magnet holes. In the original is also a place under the rear barrel to add bigger magnets with about 2 cm diameter (I kept it like that, the orignal creator just did not mentioned how the hinge mechanism works and where to place the magnets). I added pictures for clarity. Note that I printed my shotgun with 50% scaling. This is a bit too big with a length of 83 cm. That is why rescaled everything to 40%, which reduces the length to a nice 69 cm. I have not printed it at 40% yet. But I kept the magnet holes to still be 4 mm wide. So your result does not look exactly like my pictures. Big thanks to Brendan Lautissier the creator of the original model, as it was already quite good. I just added a few more hours of work to make it perfect.
