Rubber Band Winder 15:1

Description

Here is a rugged rubber band winder, 15:1. Created for big Science Olympiad Wright Stuff teams. Sharing. Check out my other designs, Pitch Gauge and Balsa Stripper. They might be useful for your team, too. BOM - M3 Screw with two washers for securing knob. - Two M2.3x5 tapper screws for securing crank to main gear. - Five M2.3x8 tapper screws for fastening faceplate. - 1.2mm piano wire for final gear's axis & output hook - 2.0mm piano wire for the first two gear axes. Printing & Assembling Notes: - PLA+, 0.16mm layer, 100% infill, No support needed - Calibrate 'flow' and correct 'elephant foot' issue before starting. (I set "Initial Layer Horizontal Expansion" to -0.2mm in Cura to compensate elephant foot.) - (Check photos), carefully create a small kink in 1.2mm output shaft first. After assembly, bend the hook to shape. - Lubricate gears well. (Vaseline or DuPont Dry-Film lubricant aerosol works well.)
