5.56_300blk Mag Loader
Description
AR Mag Loader I was able to find all the hardware needed at my local hardware store. If your store has a good selection of nuts and bolts this shouldn't be an issue including the ball bearing Hardware can be a little expensive, total cost of this project can be about $40 1) (***Highly Recommend***) 3/8" Stainless or Carbon Steel rod 2.25" long Aluminum or Brass would probably work well too. (There is an option for printing the cam rod, it works but not very well. It tends to twist and the holes will elongate.) 3) 1/4-20 socket head bolt 1" Or M6 x 25 1) 1/4-20 socket head bolt 1-3/8" Or M6 x 30 2) 1/4-20 partially threaded hex bolt 2" Or M6 x 50 6) 1/4-20 standard nut 7/16" wide x 7/32" thick Or M6 1) 10-32 x 5/16 Or M5 x 6 grub screw to use as a weight for the interlock case guide 1) 5/32" x 1" roll pin for the pusher cam 1) 8-32 x 1" socket head bolt for handle (M4 x 25 will also work) 2) 10-24 or 10-32 x 2" socket head bolt for attaching the hopper to body (M5x50 will also work) or 3/16" x 2-1/2" 2" usable length quick release pin (Can also use 4 M5x20 screws, body also has nut pockets built in for the m5 screws.) 4) 10-24 or 10-32 x 5/8" set screw, cap or button head screw (M5 x 14 or M5 x 12 will also work) 1) 3/8" ball bearing 2) (optional for pusher) M2 x 16 countersunk flat head screw to add strength where the spring interfaces the pusher 1) 1"L x 15/64"OD x .028WG compression spring 1) 2-1/2"L x (21/64OD or 3/8OD) x .028WG - .035WG compression spring (you can slide two .28WG springs together if you'd like more resistance) Springs can be hard to find. A 10mm OD x 1mm x 65mm L will also work well. Something like this https://a.co/d/aZJW9Ip and then cut it to fit. 1) (Optional) 5mm or 3/16” Rod 91mm or 3.5825" for agitator rod (cut long and adjust as needed) The printed rod works great so this isn’t necessary. 5mm Stainless 5mm Brass 3/16 Brass 3/16 Aluminum 3/16 Stainless - This is a little tricky to assemble with the pictures provided you should be able to assemble without too much issue. - This will require your printer to be dimensionally accurate. Proper function will depend on how accurate the print is. - PLA works well but if you can, the Pusher, Cam and Interlock hold up better if printed in Nylon, ABS or PETG. - The interlock case guide, cam rod and vertical rod need to be printed solid. Everything else can be printed how you see fit. I do recommend printing all parts with at least 3 walls, 4 or 5 for the Pusher and Cam. Main bodies can be printed with 10-15% infill - Make sure all surfaces are as smooth as possible. - Magwell should be tight - Tip... when attaching the agitator, put the rod in its slot of the right side main body first, then align and snap the agitator to the rod. If using the printed rod there are some holes in the agitator body that some weights can be added too if you find it doesn’t fall back down easily. Included is an alternative mag release that uses a printable disk if you can't find a ball bearing. This actually works extremely well if the surfaces are smooth but I do think the ball bearing is better.
