Simple Rail Fences for 1/72 (20mm) Wargaming
Description
Some simple, easy-to-print rail fences for use in wargames. I made them 20mm because that's what I needed, but you can easily scale them up to 129% for 28mm or down to 72% for 15mm as needed. NB. If you want the stated lengths, don't scale that dimension (probably X). I made these ones two-, four-, and six inches long, measured from the centres of the outside uprights. The uprights are 2mm square in cross section and the planks extend a further 3mm beyond that, so add 8mm total length. The fences are 16mm tall including the feet, which are 1mm thick and meant to give a surface to adhere a base to. Print with supports flat on the bed and they should come out fine. Infill probably doesn't matter a lot - the long planks are only 1mm thick so they're likely to be solid - but it's probably worth having it higher than normal for strength in the uprights. You could do it in resin too but this is the sort of thing I use my FDM machine for. You'll probably want to stick them on a card, wood, or plastic base (popsicle sticks work well) for a bit of extra support and to add details. The feet are half-moon shape to facilitate printing but might topple easily on the table. You could alternately stick each foot to a 20mm base if you prefer.
