Hot tub umbrella replacement part
Description
My friend has a hot tub umbrella that has a connection piece that broke in a wind storm. He saw my other prints that I had been doing and wondered if I could print a replacement for him, since the part was going to cost over $80 with shipping and who knows when it would arrive from China, if he could get it at all. I agreed to give it a shot. I measure the thing and with a bit of time on Tinker CAD I had a design that very closely matched his original part. I attempted to print with PVA supports and had a couple failures due to the PVA not being able to stick to the nylon filament being used. This was a learning experience for me. I ended up flipping the part over and printed with tree supports in Cura 5.0 with the "top" as the base, and not relying on the PVA to adhere to the nylon. This worked out.
