LM2596 base for 40mm fan
Description
This simple part allows to mount the popular LM2596 step-down switching regulator on a 40mm fan. It was designed in order to install a 12V fan on a 24V printer without opening the electronics box. I had difficulty finding good quality 24V fans so I made this part, in order to use computer fans that are readily available. Additional hardware that you will need: 2pcs M3 nuts 2pcs M3x5 bolts (M3x4 should also work) 4pcs bolts (at least) 3mm longer than the ones you currently use to mount the fan (if needed) It is designed so that it can be mounted in two directions(on the fan, as well as 180degrees rotated away from the fan).
