Orange PI R1 Plus LTS case

Orange PI R1 Plus LTS case

Description

Wanted to make this case with enclosed SD card and reset button. I also redid the openings to ethernet / usb-c because I wanted them neat and not bigger than necessary. This case is a little bit wider both directions so it encloses the sd card and reset button. Added LED indicators that use pieces of clear 1.75mm filament to guide the light up. You might need to widen this up a bit, the lower part of the tube is a bit too tight on my print. Don't drill all the way through to 2mm or it will lose grip of the filament strand. If you don't have grip, you can use some glue on the filament strand before guiding it in. Added more ventilation holes. More holes better! Still no 40mm fan mount though... Added text to network ports and status LEDs. (S=status, L=LAN, W=WAN) ## Instructions: 1. Widen up the holes by any means (drill bit, small flat top screwdriver, ..) until you can get filament through the holes starting from both sides. If using 2mm drill bits, try not to go all the way through, just drill as much as you need to get the filament through the tight spots 2. Mount and enclose the pi. M3 screws from underside. 3. Make sure the clear filament has flat and clean ends. Recut them or polish if needed 4. If the holes have no grip, apply some glue to the filament 5. Guide the filament from the top down until it touches the device, cut it flat off with a tape knife at the top. 6. If you have rubber feet that can be glued on, I would recommend using those to avoid the screws damaging your surfaces. Weaknesses/improvement points: I think the USB port needs around 0.5mm more clearance at the top. The case is still a bit too tight for the pi. Happy to take in changes to the openscad project if a modification works for you :) Material: Well, any material. I tested PLA, original author used PETG.
