beyerdynamic DT 700 / 900 Pro X / DT 1770 / 1990 Pro cable entry / Kabeldurchführung
Description
I designed this cable entry to get rid of the Mini XLR port and make a direct connection, because the Mini XLR Plug is too long, which is annoying when wearing a hoodie. The cable entry should be printed with TPU (mine is 95A which is okay, but a bit softer TPU would be great) and with supports on. Maybe you'll need a brim. Print slowly (20mm/s) and try to keep the print temperature as low as possible with fan on, to make sure the component doesn't overheat. If you're having problems with getting a good result because of overheating, print 2 cable entrys at the same time with a few cm distance betweem them. With this method the parts have time to cool down. Maybe you'll have to scale the cable entry a bit up or down in X and Y direction, to make your cable fit in the entry. Try using soap or talc if you're having a hard time getting the cable through the hole. The entry itself fits snugly in the headphones, just use some hotglue or similar to hold it in place if needed. I didn't use anything, because the entry fits nice and tight and doesn't come off by itself. It should beobvious, but you'll need a solder iron with a fine tip and the know how to solder. The Mini XLR Port is holded in place with a ribbed nut, which in my case was screwed on way too tight. You can allways go back to the Mini XLR Port, provided you did a clean and good job.
