Lionel Sounds of Steam Board Carrier
Description
This is a board carrier, for Lionel Sounds of Steam tenders. These were paired with the Lionel 8172, Pennsylvania, Lionel 8304 Rock Island, and Lionel 8304 Chesapeake and Ohio tenders. This is designed to replace the foam tape used in these tenders. The sound board fits in the slot in the board carrier and the board carrier fits tightly over the ears in the tender. This prevents the board from shifting in the tender and also insulates the electronics from the tender frame. Depending on how much solder accumulated at the edge of the board and if the end of a component sticks into the area covered by the slot, it may be necessary to re-solder, or heat and move component ends.
