Scosche dash mount to Furrion Vision S camera display adapter barbell

Description

Our trailer came with a Furrion Vision S rear-facing camera with a 5" diagonal display for the tow vehicle's dash. The dash mount provided is just a large L-shaped stand that rests in a pocket on the dash. (You can see it in the last picture above.) It sits so far away from the driver that I can't see much detail, and it gets direct sun & glare from the windshield as well. To mount it closer yet keep it easily removable, I settled on an adhesive mount with a ball & socket connector. Everyone has their own 'standard' ball size (Scosche is 15 mm, Furrion 22.5 mm, Garmin 17 mm...) and though I did find a few machined Aluminum or "carbon fiber" barbell-shaped adapters from Scosche to Furrion, they wanted $20-25 apiece plus shipping. FTIJPI! The barbell pops nicely into both the Scosche dash mount (once the locking collar is unscrewed & slipped onto the barbell,) and to the socket on the back of the display. The dash mount is more flexible so I prefer to unscrew the collar then pop the display & barbell out of that side. It's also cheap & easily replaceable. A pair of Scosche MAGDBASE-2PBP0 "Replacement Mounting Base for MagicMount™ Dash" was $10 and gave me a mount and a spare. I printed in grey PETG and it's held up just fine. YMMV.
