ONYX BOOX Nova air C One Hand Holder (e-reader)
Description
As the title says, this is a clip on for the Onyx Boox Nova Air C allowing you to hold it with one hand. I started out with a fixed holder for left and right, but quickly realized that that was still not practical as you want to be able to turn the reader in any direction. (added the old files but never printed those!) Hence redid everything with compliant arms and a rotating part. This is my very first project with compliant parts so its was a bit of a hit or miss, but with several test prints I've come to something that appears to work well. The entire construction was also a test case for a 'print in place' project and (save for the plugs and holes for the handle) its still IS a print in place object...however it requires so much support material that I decided to split up the handle-centre rings and added plugs and holes to glue them together after assembly. This means that hardly any support material is required. Only the handle part requires two supports structures for the plugs. Note that the handle as flat and curved side. Initially both sides were curved but it turned out to be neigh impossible to print (kept getting loose from the bed) so I ended up with keeping one side (print bed side) flat. You can use a sharp knife to cut of the edges if those annoy you. Assembly: - put the centre ring (with the holes) inside the larger ring - put some glue on the plugs on the handle - put the plugs inside the holes Wait for it to dry, rotate the disk while drying a bit to make sure you're not also glueing the outer ring stuck!! Applying to the Boox: Given that the arms are compliant you can simply put the e-reader the left and bottom arm and then pull the top and right arm over the reader. the entire structure is a bit over dimensioned (as in rather robust) I could make the parts a bit more slim but I fear that they may break which would be detrimental to the reader. Enjoy! If you want to resize/dimension/change them...the fusion files are attached here as well!
