KrakenSDR + Pi4 Assembly Frame

KrakenSDR + Pi4 Assembly Frame

Description

This is an assembly frame to physically combine a KrakenSDR (see https://www.krakenrf.com) and a Raspberry Pi 4B for passive radar and direction finding applications. ==================================================================== Update 13 September 2022: Version 1.0 of the step-by-step instructions as a .docx file (Microsoft WORD). Unfortunately thingiverse.com does not allow uploading of PDF files. If you do not dispose of WORD, then you may online-convert it to PDF e.g. via https://smallpdf.com ==================================================================== You may optionally mount the combo to an antenna pole by means of two cable ties. Please note the safety screw under the top tie, so you don't have to tighten the ties too hard. The KrakenSDR has physical contact with the frame only at its rubber feet and at the top corners, leaving ample space between the frame and the KrakenSDR for cooling air. You can contribute to the cooling by printing the frame in a light color (e.g. white) and turn the back of the frame towards the sun. I printed the frame in PLA with three peripheral, two top and two bottom layers, 0.3 mm layer height, 0.5 mm extrusion width and 15% infill. I assembled it unsing four 2.9 x 9.5 mm self-tapping screws (DIN 7981-C-H), plus a fifth one as safety screw into the pole. As always I include the OpenSCAD source file for you to adapt or improve. See my other designs at https://www.thingiverse.com/thinger13/designs In particular my Yagi antenna pictured above https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5472960 which I am currently using for KrakenSDR passive radar experiments.
