WaveShare 5 Inch DSI Display Enclosure RPI 3B+

WaveShare 5 Inch DSI Display Enclosure RPI 3B+

Description

## Background After setting up Klipper for my Ender 3 S1 Pro, I was left without a display (as the stock touchscreen is not directly compatible with Klipper). I ended up purchasing a WaveShare 5" display (https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/5inch_DSI_LCD) to run KlipperScreen. This design is to enclose the LCD display as well as the Raspberry Pi in a modular format. ### NOTE Please note that this is (as of 01.09.2022) the first working iteration of this design, if you find any "bugs", please let me know. I went through few iterations and test prints to be happy with this "V1" release, please refer to some of the important information below: * This design is supposed to fit the components very tightly, proper printer calibration steps should be carried out if any part does not fit properly * i.e. bed levelling is important * My printer was no where near as calibrated as it should be, covered in MDF saw dust lol but it still worked for me * The screw mounting holes for the LCD display (4 holes) are 3mm, with a 2.5mm depth 6mm wide pocket for an insertion of a M3 Hex Nut, HOWEVER, I soon realized that the display it self IS NOT M3, ( I think it's M2 (<3mm)) * As seen on the pictures attached, I did not use any screws as the tabs on the enclosure is enough to hold the screen tightly, if you have the proper screws handy, use them :) * The "swivel" action mounting base far from perfect, as there are no actual moving parts, you have to unscrew the bolt holding it with the swivel adapter to rotate it * The mounting base is strong enough to hold all the components without tipping over, however, since the base is not attached to anything, you _can_ accidentally tip it over * Avoid using short USB cables etc
