Universal Horizontal Filament Spool Holder Designed For Salton Vita Pro (can also be used on any surface)

Description

### **Horizontal Spool Holder Designed For Salton Vita Pro Dehydrator (can also be used on any flat surface)** I designed this spool holder to be used inside of a Salton Vita Pro food dehydrator. It may also be used on any flat surface by simply eliminating the piece called "V1 Track Hole Plug"
### **Parts List** 1. Print 1 of each piece 2. M4xD7.0xL7.0 Heatset Insert Qty. - 1 3. M4 x 12mm Hex Flat Head Machine Screw Qty. - 1 4. 608 Bearing Qty. - 4
### **Directions** *Skip to Step 5 if you're not using the Salton Food Dehydrator* 1. Place the heatset insert on the soldering iron tip of your choice and heat to the desired temperature for 10 seconds. In my case, I printed using PETG so I heated my iron to 200C 2. Press the heatset insert into the bottom hole of the part called "V1 Track". Use constant and even pressure, it doesn't take much force. It will slowly make its way into the plastic (took about 10 seconds for mine) 3. Trim away any excess plastic that bulged out during Step 2 4. Line up "V1 Track Hole Plug" with "V1 Track" and use an M4x12mm Flat Head Machine Screw to assemble. 5. Grab the 4 x 608 bearings and "V1 Horizontal Spool Holder" 6. The bearings are a press fit. Carefully press 3 of the bearings onto the 3 legs that protrude from "V1 Horizontal Spool Holder". It takes quite a bit of force to press them on. Be sure not to twist as you're applying pressure. 7. On the bottom side of "V1 Horizontal Spool Holder", press the final 608 bearing into the center 22.3mm Hole. This is a very tight fit, I had to gently tap the bearing with a hammer. Stop tapping the bearing when it is flush with the underside of "V1 Horizontal Spool Holder". ***Caution: To avoid the use of supports, instead of stopping the hole at 7.1mm deep, I continued extruding from 7.1mm at a -45 degree angle until the hole reached a point. It may be possible to force the bearing past the flush point if you really smack it hard. However, the tapered edge was enough to prevent my bearing from going in too far 8. Press "V1 Horizontal Spool Holder" onto the post of "V1 Track". This is another press fit but not nearly as tight as the single bearing from Step 7 and slightly looser than the 3 bearings from Step 6. 9. Place your spool onto "V1 Horizontal Spool Holder". It is designed to accept a wide variety of spool bores and depths. 10. Place "V1 Spool Holder Nut" through your spool and thread it into "V1 Horizontal Spool Holder" until the threads are snug. 11. Place the entire assembly on one of the dehydrator trays so that the bottom stopper is inside the middle hole of the tray. 12. Assemble the dehydrator and begin printing!
