Ender 3 and 3Pro Threaded Filament Filter

Ender 3 and 3Pro Threaded Filament Filter

Description

Post-Extruder Threaded Filament Filter With Drip Hole I use PETG as it is more resistant to shear. PLA works well too. This filter uses the spare PTFE coupling which comes with your Ender 3 This design allows you to use any kind of lubricants and dyes you want to drip directly to your filament after the extruder wheels so you don't clog and mess them up. Diameter and length are minimum so there is no flexing of the filament inside. Print quality is not affected. I suggest using a cutout from your stock foam which comes with the printer as a filter. This design is inherently weak and will most probably deform and break over time so you have to print a new TOP(Male) part every couple of months. I would not suggest leaving printer unattended with this mod. Printing sideways with supports will equal a stronger front tube which will be resistant to breakage. I will redesign this with a dual coupling setup for mounting in the middle of the PTFE tube which will be a fail safe design but it will require purchasing a second coupling. There are two female parts: One with 5mm opening and another with 6mm opening. !!! For the Ender 3/Pro V2 etc... use the 6mm one!!! It's designed for 1.75mm filament. Tolerances are tight so you might need to sand off a bit of material for a proper fit with the couplings. Happy Printing! :=)
