W2D VIII - TRX4 Hammer Sport
Description
Hi guys, This is an update of my Hammer truck roll cage for the TRX-4 Sport chassis. Assembly instructions: https://wrenchtodrive.blogspot.com/2022/09/w2d-viii-trx-4-hammer-sport-build-guide.html See it running: https://youtu.be/ibe5GK0qUDw I highly recommend making it out of TPU for durability. If you're going to slow crawl you probably won't destroy a PLA+ version instantly, but do not use brittle PLA unless you enjoy wasting your time and money. I haven't broken anything made of TPU yet and this cage works out really well when printed with heavy infill (almost solid). A 3D pen is super useful for welding parts together, just use the lowest speed setting for TPU. I'm at the point where I don't know how I lived without one and seriously regret not buying one sooner. Mine is of the dirt cheap variety and I'm sure it will die at some point but I've got hours of use on it and I didn't really expect it would last this long, so take that for what you will. I assembled this using 20mm M2.5 screws and I believe they were slightly too long for some of the holes and I had to drill a little deeper. If you go with 15mm m2.5 screws you should be fine. I haven't had any screw pulling out problems with the cage. The chassis mount screws are M3. Do you drive to wrench or do you wrench to drive?
