Ender 3 Filament Stabiliser
Description
Ender 3 series Filament Stabiliser ========================== I noticed when assembling the printer, that the screws for the upper filament spool holder seemed to be a little too long, biting into the extrusion before the spool holder was snug. I always intended on getting a washer for the screws, but a direct drive extruder mount happened before then. So I did what everyone else does, and rotated the spool 90 degrees, leaving one screw un attached, however with the sloppy fit of the one remaining screw, it just never actually seemed solid enough for me to trust it long term. So i modelled up a little stabiliser bracket to attach it to the frame a little better. It mounts between the spool holder, and the frame, secured in the top by the original screw and t-nut, and in the rear by an M3 screw, and a T-Nut holder that I also modelled. It is designed to work with a M3x10mm screw, and the nuts that I have for the screws measure 5.4mm across the flats, and are 2.4mm thick. If your hardware doesn't match, I've provided the .step files for you to play with and adjust to suit, or if there are any other common sizes that need accommodating, let me know, and I can make the adjustments, and add more parts. The screws are a press fit in the T-Nut holders, I use a screw to pull them in, then I slide them in from the end of the extrusion. With it all in place, the spool holder secures far better than it did before.
