Celestron C8 radius block (Losmandy --> Vixen)
Description
This set of radius block allows you to attach a narrow dovetail bar (i.e. Vixen / CG-5) to the Losmandy attachment points on a Celestron C8. This is useful when you wish to (1) attach your C8 to your mount using a Vixen bar, AND (2) attach a second vixen bar on the C8 for piggybacking a refractor or other attachment. The specifications work for my C8 (~10 years old). The Losmandy attachment screws are one #10-24 screw on one end, and a pair of #8-32 screws on the other (pair separated by 46mm horizontally). I do not know if this is true for all the various C8 iterations so measure first! I have included the FreeCAD files if you need to make adjustments. There are two parts: Part 1: Radius block that connects to the C8 via a pair of #8-32 machine screws Part 2: Radius block that connects to the C8 via a single #10-24 machine screw Parts needed: 4 x 5/8" #8-32 machine screws (2 screws to connect vixen bar to the radius block, 2 screws to connect radius block to C8. Alternatively you can use the original hex bolts that come with the dovetail) 2 x #8-32 nuts (to connect vixen bar to radius block) 1 x 1" #10-24 machine screw (to connect radius bar to C8).
