Simple Filament Sensor Jam and Runout
Description
Summary This thing is a small and light filament sensor that will detect if you run out of filament or if it's jamming somewhere on the machine. The filament runs past an encoder wheel, which allows the printer the visualize if the filament is moving when it expects it to (during extrusion / retraction). Printed Parts Print parts A, B and C. No supports needed! All parts easily fit together without hardware, and can be glued for a permanent connection. Purchased Parts One [Optical Speed Encoder](https://a.co/d/aHHhJQD) Two [688ZZ Bearings](https://a.co/d/5I9j0Ri) Assembly First snap a bearing onto the top of Part B. Fit one end of the speed sensor into the bottom of Part B (it should be a loose fit). Slide Part C onto Part B, this will secure the speed sensor to Part B. Finally snap a bearing into Part A, then snap it onto Part B. Optional You can add glue if parts are fitting loosely, such as where parts B/C join. They are designed to press fit however manufacturing and printer tolerances may not be perfect.
