Desk Lamp Switch Cover

Desk Lamp Switch Cover

Description

Back in the 20th Century, Luxo style articulated arm desk lamps were all the rage. The nice looking ones had a 180deg dome on the top for the switch. This was really just a cover for a simple spinning stick switch like all the other laps of the time had, but it looked nicer. Problem is, they broke off leaving you with the not so pretty stick. I got my lamp in 1990 and the cover broke in 1992, so it has been 30 years that my once handsome Late 20th Century Modern desk lamp has bared the scars of my late night college antics. I kept the cover for all these years vowing to one day repair the cherished relic of my bright college days. And through the miracle of 3D printing it has finally happened, a 21st Century replacement for this near antique. Included are two STL files: The complete switch cover and the heart, nay.. Arc Reactor Core, of the cover, the Switch Grip. I freely grant license to others who may remix and build upon the gift I have given to humanity. Note: the dome cover has an integrated switch grip, so there is no need to print it separately. I'm just including it so that it will be easier to remix.
