Baby Doll & Stuffed Animal Cochlear Implants

Baby Doll & Stuffed Animal Cochlear Implants

Description

This project was developed with Sound Start Babies program educators Kayley Mayer and Ellie Habib in association with the Mountain Lakes Public Library. With grant funding from the NJ State Library and IMLS, we were able to develop, prototype, and print with flexible filament baby doll and stuffed animal cochlear implants. This design was created in Tinkercad. You can measure the ear of a toy doll and adjust the scale of the cochlear implant. We recommend printing with flexible filament like TPU. Printing with flexible filament is more challenging. Not every printer prints with flexible filament (TPU) well. Please check your printer's documentation. Best Practice Flexible Filaments Notes: --Print slow: between 25 - 35 mm/second --Retraction length: set between 0 and .8 mm --Retraction speed: set between 25 and 35 mm / second --Extruder temp: Make sure to check your filament; most likely between 220 - 235 degrees Celcius Please email Ian Matty at LakerMakersClub@gmail.com for more information.
