Europa MKS: Standalone MakerBase Gen_L V1.0 Chassis such as for JGAURORA A3S or A5

Description

Get rid of those pesky wire collisions on the A3S and A5 which look great from the outside, and fuss with your wiring without having to re-level the bed. This is being printed now so it is a work in progress. I wanted to post it today since I already change the "manufacturing date" text on it to today since I'm printing it today. I did test it before combining it into fewer parts. The prints are long but it looks nicer, and since my remix is half the size, it will fit on the print bed on some printers. You can print the smaller parts by exporting them from the blend file (export, STL, check "Selection Only"). Make sure you have the supports for the letter(s) you are printing, and the direction (such as on "BOTTOM" for right-side up, "FACE" if printing on face [95 degrees on y so screen bezel is flat on the bed], and so on). ## Differences in Pokilos' remix - Fits MKS Gen-L V1.0 - Fits MKS TFT28 (the LCD screen that comes with the mainboard such as on JGAURORA A3S & A5). - 1/2 scale - There are conduits where you can insert and superglue (glue with cyanoacrylate) some cheap fiber optics such as by cutting some strands from [6 Pieces Fiber Optic Wand Glow Fiber Wands Flashing LED Light Fairy Stick Toy Wands Battery Operated, Glow Sticks Fun Light up Birthday Party Favors Goodie Fillers (Pink, Green, Blue, White)](https://www.amazon.com/Flashing-Batteries-Included-Light-up-Birthday/dp/B099KKV2T6/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=fiber%2Boptics%2Btoy&qid=1664765734&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIyLjI0IiwicXNhIjoiMi4yMyIsInFzcCI6IjEuNTAifQ%3D%3D&sr=8-5&th=1) on Amazon: - There is an indicator light module with labels for BED, T0, T1, and FAN inserted after the mainboard - There is a fiber optic path for the D7 (red, power) and D8 (Rx/Tx?) lights. - If you know what D8 is, please comment. - There is a fiber optic path for the power light on the TFT28 - There is a slot in the door where you can insert a 40x40x10 mm fan. You can remove the fan by pressing something into the hole underneath the fan area to push the fan out. - The air conduit points to the stepper drivers (but not the T1 driver slot, unused in JGAURORA A3S, for dual nozzle setups!). The air duct is only designed for single-nozzle setups. - The duct is only necessary for drivers which need active cooling. Otherwise, you may download the door from the original LowBudgetTech version linked below, scale it by 50% and mirror it. - You'll need a fan splitter to use both that and the extruder fan from the constant 24V output port (confusingly, the port is next to the drivers on the MKS Gen_L V1.0. - The "FAN" port is the variable fan speed port not suitable for cooling the drivers! Use the port next to the red X axis stepper driver port (labeled 12/24V in the manual). Ensure this oddity is true of your firmware version, otherwise use whatever port supplies constant voltage whenever the board has DC power. Make sure you use a splitter so you still give power to the extruder cooling fan. - Make sure you tune the voltage if adding TMC drivers, such as with voltages specified for your model at the [Tuning & Upgrading the Stepper Drivers](https://jgaurorawiki.com/a5/stepper-drivers) article at the Unofficial JGAURORA Wiki. Use whatever page applies to your printer. The A3S V1 (without SD Card) is basically identical to the A5 (not A5S) other than in physical size (and build volume). - See also: Changelog. ## MKS Gen-L V1.0 - The undocumented lights, starting from near the fan connector (Yes, their labels are odds then evens), are: - D1: Fan on (flashes rapidly when not at 255/255 speed; dual Creality 4010 fans just twitch and don't turn until reaching at least 49/255) - D3: - D2: E0 heater on (flashes rapidly when using PID algorithm) - D4: BED heater on (flashes rapidly when using PID algorithm) - There are (2) small lights starting at the DC input: - D7: power (solid red) - D8: Rx/Tx? (flashes blue such as when USB is connected/disconnected) ## License - [Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/) (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) - by LowBudgetTech and Poikilos - based on [Full-Sized Macintosh Style Retro Computer (Europa)](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4088360) by [LowBudgetTech](https://www.thingiverse.com/LowBudgetTech) February 27, 2020 Help me do this as my job: [zahyest.com](https://zahyest.com)
