Varroa Mite Test Cup
Description
This is a basket for a varroa mite wash test. It turns a Talenti gelato container into a test cup. The basket is roughly 1 cup in volume, which means the basket should be half filled for 300 bees. I designed it in two parts because I didn't want to deal with supports or overhangs. Quick superglue job makes for a nice, clean finished product. To assemble, simply line the inner rim of the ring with super glue and slip the open end of the basket inside. The raised portion of the ring acts as a separator to hold the basket centered in the Talenti cup and provide a gap for the mites to wash out the sides of the basket.
