RRC3 LCD Display Case
Description
I wanted to make a case to hopefully help protect my RRC3 LCD module from getting damaged/banged around as much. It has 2 pieces, a base and a top. The 2 pieces snap together as tolerances are pretty tight (perimeter is .5mm larger on all sides, 1mm in total length/height), mounts on the base hold the PCB 5mm off the bottom, plenty of clearance for solder joints underneath it. The mount holes ID is 2.5mm, so you can thread an M3 bolt into it to secure. The bolts ended up being unnecessary and the top snaps in quite nicely but i secured it anyway. I use resin printers at .05mm layer height, not sure if filament can print this or not, so if you give it a shot, please share the results with me one way or the other. Cross Sectioon, Pink is the RRC3 LCD unit itself, Orange is the base layer and blue is the top. I decided against an opening for the LCD screen contrast dial, its in a tough enough spot to reach without the case at all, i just set mine to the highest contrast before securing inside the case. Models have nice straight edges, you could import into editor and modify easily. I also exported the model of the RRC3 LCD Unit itself that i made first to make this case. The main components are close enough to make your own case, i used a digital caliper and i think its pretty close, without having a schematic with exact dimensions Tags
