Sensor Calibration Kit for the KISS Sidewinder Rebreather
Description
A kit to allow you to calibrate your oxygen sensors without having to assemble the entire unit. It was designed for the KISS Sidewinder, but should work just as well for other KISS models with the same type of scrubber, like the Orca Spirit. The only not 3D printable part needed is a length of plastic hose with an outer diameter of 5mm. Suitable hose is available for cheap as 'irrigation hose' from DIY and garden stores, '3mm inner diameter' should be the correct size. To use the kit: - print all the parts. The injection adaptor and the vent plugs should be printed in TPU or another flexible material, PETG or similar works well for the rest. Get the plastic hose; - put the second stage adaptor onto one end of the hose - it should just slide in with some pressure; - slide the injection adaptor onto the other end of the hose, with about 100mm of hose sticking out of it. Again, this should fit snugly; - put a spare loop O-ring onto the scrubber plug; - disconnect the O2 addition valve from the hose connecting it to the unit; - assemble the O2 tank, regulator, and the addition valve, screw the second stage adaptor onto the the **output** side of the addition valve; - push the scrubber plug into the loop orifice on the sensor head; - push the hose end with the injection adaptor through one of the vent holes in the scrubber plug, adjust the hose length so that it just reaches into the scrubber head cavity; - put the scrubber cover over the bottom of the scrubber head, and fasten it with the locking ring; - now you are ready to perform a sensor calibration in O2. Enter calibration mode on your dive computer, and press the O2 manual add button until the sensor readings stabilise, calibrate your computer.
